Societe Generale awarded « Best Trade Finance Provider » by Global Finance

On 17 January 2024, during the Bank to Bank Forum (BAFT) in Frankfurt, the 24th Trade Finance Awards ceremony was held, organized by Global Finance.  

The editorial review board of Global Finance selected the best trade finance providers based on entries from banks and other providers, as well as input from industry analysts, corporate executives and technology experts. Criteria for choosing the winners included: transaction volume, scope of global coverage, customer service, competitive pricing and innovative technologies.

                                                                                                                            

Once again, the Group excelled by offering innovative solutions adapted to the needs of its customers in the different regions:

In France and Western Europe, Societe Generale has embarked on a programme  to digitalise international trade finance services,:
•    With the deployment of an  innovative “all-in-one” platform Easytrade platform(developed in partnership with Komgo), made available to our clients to facilitate bank/client communication on their trade finance transactions;
•    With a strong strategy of cooperation and partnerships with fintechs in the Trade Finance ecosystem, as part of the Payment & Transaction Banking Accelerator start-up accelerator programme, essential to the acceleration of the Group’s transactional innovations;
•    Finally, with a training programme for our Trade Finance teams promoting the digitalisation culture and the importance of data.

In Senegal, Societe Generale offered a formal “green trade” labeling process that helped a client in its first  ESG transaction, by completing the first import letter of credit labeled “Green”. This transaction allowed the start of a sustainable water and wastewater management project, with a strong positive impact on the environment. 

 Throughout the year, Societe Generale has also developed support for its clients in Trade Finance on green investments and projects with a positive environmental impact in various areas of activity (health, agriculture, energy, etc.).

In short, a series of fine achievements have allowed us to stand out at the regional and local levels, hailed by the Global Finance awards.
This is a great recognition of the expertise and constant efforts made by our teams to support our clients and excel in our projects.
