Societe Generale appoints James Shekerdemian as Head of Prime Services for Asia Pacific
Societe Generale Corporate & Investment Banking (SG CIB) announces the appointment of James Shekerdemian as Head of Prime Services for Asia Pacific with effect from 27 October 2015. He replaces Laurent Cunin, who will be pursuing other opportunities outside the group. James will continue in his role as Global Head of Prime Brokerage Sales.
In his new role James will further develop the business in the region and oversee all of the activities of Prime Brokerage and Clearing Sales, Global Execution Services and Cross-Asset Secured Financing; ensuring the smooth roll out of the enhanced Prime Services offering to existing and prospective clients in the region.
Societe Generale Prime Services is a global, multi-asset, multi-instrument prime brokerage offering financing, custody, clearing and execution through a single platform. Prime Services provides clients access to over 125 markets and execution venues.
James has over 20 years of experience in the capital markets industry, firstly in listed derivatives, then in electronic execution and equity prime brokerage, and most recently in multi asset class prime brokerage. Before joining Societe Generale in 2012, James spent five years at JP Morgan as the European Head of Prime Brokerage sales.
