The Banker Investment Banking Awards 2016

SG CIB is pleased to announce it has once again received awards in this year's Investment Banking Awards from The Banker.

This is the first edition of The Bankers Awards where SG CIB has been recognized as top performer in three categories. This  success underlines the quality of the solutions provided to clients, in terms of advisory, execution and products, and reflects the teams' commitment to excellence.

  • Most Innovative Equity Linked House

SG CIB has played a key role in the Equity-Linked landmark deals seen during 2015 and 2016. Perhaps the most notable is Airbus’s debut €500m seven-year convertible bond, on which SG CIB was sole global coordinator and joint bookrunner.

This award recognizes SG CIB’s expertise in convertible bonds, its capacity to innovate with products such as the non-dilutive and hybrid convertible bonds and its dynamism in the market.

  • Most Innovative Bank for Risk Management

In a year characterised by record-low interest rates, unexpected currency moves and volatile commodity prices, risk management solutions have been in high demand. SG CIB has risen to the challenge and has developed a more and more integrated advisory-based approach: working in close partnership with its clients in finding the most appropriate solution for their needs, taking into account their specific internal policy, accounting and regulatory constraints.

The award showcases cutting-edge risk management solutions for corporates, financial institutions and governments encompassing rates, foreign exchange, equity and other exposures.

  • Most Innovative Bank for Structured Investor Products

Derivatives have always been at the heart of SG CIB: this year, the bank celebrates its 30 years of innovation in derivatives. In 2016, the bank has expanded its range of structured product solutions and made changes to improve the overall client experience. SG CIB has added new services to its online client portal SG Markets and strengthened its cross-asset structure by bringing together its flow and structured engineering teams.

This award reaffirms the bank’s capability to understand the needs of clients and translate them into solutions.
