Research House of the Year - Risk Awards 2021
We are delighted to announce that Risk Magazine has named Societe Generale “Research House of the Year” in its Risk Awards 2021.
Societe Generale’s submission, which covered quantitative, index, ETF and ESG research proved popular with the judges for its emphasis on providing practical and actionable investment advice. The research team’s availability for our clients during a challenging 2020 was something the judges also picked up on. Click here to read the Risk write up.
Winning this award, for the first time, is a strong industry recognition of the impact our content is having. It is also a testimony of the banks’ ability to offer clients a full spectrum of cross-asset financial research that covers not only quant but also economics, cross asset strategies, equity and credit single name research, and the increasing important Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) research.
Andrew Lapthorne, Global Head of the Quantitative Research Group, explains that “innovation with a focus on application is at the heart of our research proposition. We don’t just write about ideas, we turn them into directly investible trades. We don’t just talk about macro risk, we build hedges to deal with them. In a world of near-zero interest rates, finding ways to deliver returns and manage risk creates an endless need to innovate”.
Finally, and as Sandrine Ungari, Head of Cross Asset Quantitative Research, is keen to point out, “our experts are not in an ivory tower. Educating clients, sharing our knowledge to help them make the right decisions is a real driving force for us. From educational reports to bespoke training and solutions, our experts strive to put the client at the heart of our research”. For example, providing bespoke ESG implementation solutions by tailoring existing themes and strategies to take into account specific client ESG criteria when they differ from ours.
Congratulations to all the teams involved and thanks to our clients for their continued trust!
